Lost/Found Pets
The best thing to do if you lost your pet is to go in person to
the
Solano County Animal Shelter. Bring pictures of your pet and
any microchipping information.
Dogs that are
brought into the shelter are scanned for microchips. If a
microchip is detected, the owner may be located and reunited
with the pet. When compared to traditional pet locating methods,
a microchip can reduce or even avoid time-consuming and often
unyielding search efforts or disturbing (and costly) shelter
stays for your pet.
MICROCHIP your pet as a part
of your responsible pet ownership plan!
Initial chip
insertion and registration: $20.00. Transfer registration only:
Cost depends on chip manufacturer; please call or come to Animal
Care Services for more information. (The microchip registration
portion requires payment by a separate check, money order, or
credit card. No cash, and, sorry, no exceptions!).
